Why Me, Lord?

To ask why? is not sinful; it’s just a sign that one’s trust is not fully developed. But to ask “why me?” shows that self-focus, especially in self-centered persons, has to some extent displaced something of the God-focus in their virtue of trust. It’s easy to God’s love on the cross when Jesus is there, but God’s love for us is not that easy to see when we are on that cross.
