GIFTS YOU SHOULD GIVE AWAY An apple tree doesn’t grow apples for its own consumption, but primarily to feed others. With your many God-given gifts (many of which you don’t recognize), you are like a fruit-bearing tree; others are in need of what you–and perhaps only you– can offer them. This includes gifts that you yourself have received from the Holy Spirit, your talents, and even the material resources that God has given to you to be shared altruistically. The first pope tells us this in his scriptural injunction: ‘Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received’ (1 Peter 4:10). In this presentation, Fr. Hampsch shows how sharing your gifts will draw down on you even more and greater gifts from the Lord, as Jesus promised: ‘The measure you give will be the measure you get back’ (Luke 6:38).
